CedarSchemes makes custom planters and garden accessories
Although popular planter style and sizes are just right for most customers, a growing number of our customers want a piece that’s designed to fit a particular space and purpose. They know they will be happier with a custom sized planter. That’s what makes CedarSchemes special!
We love building custom orders of our natural cedar planters. It’s important to us that you have something that is just right for your home or business.
How the custom design process works

- We collaborate with you throughout the process of creating a CedarSchemes custom planter.
- You don’t pay us a fee to work up a design.
- We listen to you and ask questions during the design phase to learn how you will use your planter or other unique cedar landscape accent piece.
- Next, we confirm with you that we’ve correctly documented the desired style and size of the piece. At that point, we mock-up a sketch to review together, so we’re sure we’re on the right track.
- Using your reaction, we change the design if needed.
- In some cases, we will meet with you at your site.
- Once we have your approval of the design and specifications, we confirm the cost and set an agreed date for completion of the order.
- We collect a 50% non-refundable deposit on any custom order. Payment balance is due when you receive the finished piece.
Whenever you’re considering a custom size planter, please just give us a call or send us an e-mail. We find it’s usually easier just to talk through your design ideas and clarify exactly what you want.
Important: We do not ship our planters. If you live outside the greater Seattle area, we’re happy to build your custom planter, but you will need to make arrangements to pick up your planter from our Lake Forest Park, WA location.
When your custom planter will be ready
How soon you receive your order depends on several things, including the season and when we receive the order. Late winter and spring are our busiest seasons. We complete special orders in order of receipt.
We tell you about how long you will wait after we assess your design complexity and the number of items you’re buying. Typically, we ask customers to allow up to four to six weeks after we receive a paid deposit before they can expect their order will be ready for pick up or delivery.
When you order several pieces at a time, you can decide to take each piece as each is completed or wait for all pieces to be created. In all cases, you will know when to expect to receive your order before you place your deposit.
We want to build a beautiful natural cedar planter or landscape accent piece to meet your unique space and style. Our goal is make a custom piece you will love and enjoy for years to come.
Cost of custom planters
A custom planter/accent piece is surprisingly affordable.
The most significant drivers of cost are materials and design complexity. A large planter needs more materials. A more unique design for a custom piece usually takes more time to build and may also need more materials or even a site visit or on-site installation. That’s why we work closely with you throughout the design phase.
